Butlerian Jihad, My Shiny Metal Arse

The term 'Butlerian Jihad' is obviously a reference to Samuel Butler's 'Erewhon'.

Deriving the name from somebody named 'Serena Butler' or 'Jehanne Butler' is just plain stupid.

    Hardly the most egregious piece of posthumous Dune revisionism, though.

    At least, I assume it isn't, though I will not likely ever know for sure as, like you, I have no intention of reading anything with "Dune" on the cover that wasn't written solely by Herbert the Senior.
